Reiki treatments are ideally held in a quiet and comfortable setting, whether in one of The Reiki Center locations or in your own home. While lying fully-clothed on a padded massage table, the client’s experience is enhanced by soft music, scented candles and low lighting.

With light touch, usually no more than the weight of a nickel, the practitioner will gently place her hands on multiple locations on the client’s body. Many of the selected hand locations correspond to centers of energy found in the body’s cranio-sacral system known as chakras. Often the practitioner’s hands are a few inches above the client, assessing the energy field surrounding the body and sending energy to the etheric levels as well as the physical body. It’s not uncommon for the client to feel tingling or heat as a current of white light energy passes through the body, or chills when negative energies are released.

An immediate positive response by clients is almost always expressed. A decrease or elimination of pain is common. Individuals who were previously feeling anxious or stressed often report a high level of relaxation and sense of wellbeing. In fact, many clients fall asleep during a treatment! While many benefits are immediately evident, the process of purging the body of toxins and its response to the new energy may take up to 21 days. During this time period, clients often report an increased thirst in response to the elimination period, as well as heightened awareness and energy.

The use of Egyptian Healing Rods may be indicated with some clients. Manufactured in Russia, the copper and zinc rods are filled with crystals and are especially effective in energy work. Your practitioner will determine which of the six sets of rods would best suit your needs.

Session cost is $60 per hour for a studio appointment and $75 per hour for a home visit. Other selected wellness modalities (tuning forks, CranioSacral therapy, acupuncture, etc.) are $75 per hour.
