What is Reiki and how can it
help me?
Reiki is a wellness technique which is becoming more popular
with western health care consumers looking for natural pain and
stress relief for themselves and their pets. It is based on the
concept of energy flowing in and through all living things. When
this energy is low or blocked, we are more likely to get sick and
feel stressed. Using exceptionally light touch on a fully-clothed
body, Reiki restores the flow of energy that in turn balances the
body, mind and spirit. Beginner students learn how to work on their
own physical, mental and emotional concerns. Advanced students
learn how to share their skills to help others.
I want to learn! How do I select the
right
Reiki program for
me?
There are many different options for learning Reiki that it can
often be confusing to identify which school offers the best program
for you. Researching what is available, you will find some training
programs offer 2-3 hours of instruction for the Beginner, Advanced
and Master levels, home study programs and Internetbased learning
opportunities. Some programs cover just the basics, such as hand
positions. Some schools provide verbal instruction only and do
not provide handouts, books or binders of information that you
can use later for reference purposes. Many factors will play
a role in your determination of the best program for you, such
as cost, time commitment and your own goals. Those interested
in learning about using Reiki should research what is available
and based on your individual needs and goals choose the program
that best meets your overall goal.
Why are The Reiki Center’s classes
so popular?
The Reiki Center staff sincerely believe that a comprehensive
education program provides the foundation you will need to
understand every aspect of working with energy techniques.
Taught in the traditional Usui method, developed in 1921 by
Dr. Mikao Usui, classes are small to give each student the personalized
attention needed to succeed. Four individual attunements are
provided in the traditional method to permit the energy and empowerment
to flow from teacher to student. In addition, important topics
such as the chakra system and the body’s microcosmic energy
orbit are discussed in detail. Combined with a textbook, binder
and many related handouts, vegetarian lunches and refreshments,
the Center’s
program has become a model for nuturing students from the first
moment of feeling energy flow to helping you share your professional
skills with others. Free Reiki Shares to enhance your skills,
an Internship Program and Continuing Education classes for
those who wish to advance their abilities, and a supportive
environment which mentors your Reiki training all make the
difference.
