Linda Mizer is a Licensed Massage Therapist who has 12 years experience working with children on the autism spectrum. She works with each child to address their situation through rhythmic movements and activities designed to integrate the body and mind. These movements improve the function of the limbic system and prefrontal cortex of the brain which can help children better communicate their needs and express their affection. She teaches parents how to work with their own children, including those who can't or won't hold still.
This work is also beneficial for adults. The sessions are tailored to each individual's needs. Clients report that they feel how much their bodies need the movements. Each session offers opportunities to engage with rhythm and movement in ways that relax, integrate, and energize. Clients are fully clothed for the sessions. They can wear loose comfortable clothing which allows for the rocking and rolling movements that are part of the work.
Linda has studied bodywork modalities with teachers from Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, South Africa, Sweden and U.S. In addition to her specialized bodywork training, she holds degrees in psychology and English literature. She also loves to travel.
